Accumulator/Venturi
Assembly |
An
acccumulator allows
for the thermal
expansion and contraction
of the coolant
when exposed to
temperature changes. Tark's
proprietary accumulator
venturi assembly
consists of a venturi
mounted near the
pump inlet, tubing
that connects the
venturi's throat
to the accumulator,
and the accumulator
itself. This
design yields several
important features:
|
 |
Pressurization: During
operation,
ensures that
a positive
pressure reaches
pump inlet; when
pump is off,
entire system
is at atmospheric
pressure thus
minimizing
leaks or air
entrapment. |
 |
Simple
Flow Switch: During
operation,
the pressure
at the venturi's
throat is
atmospheric;
one pressure
switch or
transducer
mounted at
the venturi's
outlet will
act as a
flow sensor
because it's
pressure
reading is
always the
delta between
itself and
the venturi's
throat. This
delta is
a very accurate
indicator
of flow. |
 |
Facilitates
Flush and
Fill: The
venturi in
the open
system of
the Tark
Flush and
Fill Kit
can be used
to create
a negative
pressure
at its throat,
thereby evacuating
the air inside
the accumulator
during a
flush and
fill procedure. |
